1st Leadless Pacemaker Implantation at Utkal Hospital

A successful leadless pacemaker implantation performed for a 65-year-old patient presenting with symptomatic bradycardia and cardiogenic syncope.

Clinical Presentation

Transient loss of consciousness, left-sided weakness and symptomatic bradycardia.

Holter Findings

Multiple pauses of more than 2 seconds with the lowest heart rate of 31 BPM.

Device Used

Abbott Aveir-VR Leadless Pacemaker in VVIR mode.

Implantation

Device introduced through the femoral vein and successfully positioned in the mid-lower septum of the right ventricle.

Successful Outcome

The procedure was completed without complications. The patient had a stable post-operative recovery and was discharged after 2 days in hemodynamically stable condition.
