Assessment of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts Status in Symptomatic Patients: An Observational Study
American Journal of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery — J Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery 2(1): 4, Published 13 February 2017
An observational study evaluating graft patency and clinical outcomes in patients who present with recurrent symptoms after coronary artery bypass grafting.
Overview
Recurrent angina or ischaemic symptoms after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) may indicate graft dysfunction, native vessel disease progression, or other cardiac causes, making systematic angiographic assessment important in symptomatic post-CABG patients.
This observational study evaluated the status of bypass grafts in symptomatic patients using coronary angiography, examining patterns of graft occlusion, stenosis and disease progression in the native coronary circulation.
The findings contribute to the understanding of graft failure patterns and support the role of angiographic follow-up in guiding further management of symptomatic post-CABG patients.
