Study of Posterior Interosseous Artery (PIA) Flap for Reconstruction of the Defects of Wrist and Hand Over a Period of 2 Years in a Tertiary Care Centre
Journal of Pharmaceutical Negative Results — Volume 13, Special Issue 5, 2022
A two-year clinical study assessing the posterior interosseous artery (PIA) flap for reconstruction of wrist and hand defects at a tertiary care centre.
Overview
The posterior interosseous artery (PIA) flap is a pedicled flap option used for reconstruction of defects around the wrist and hand, offering reliable coverage without sacrificing a major axial vessel.
This study reviewed cases managed with the PIA flap over a two-year period at a tertiary care centre, evaluating flap survival, complication rates and functional outcomes.
The results support the PIA flap as a dependable reconstructive technique for selected wrist and hand defects.
